This hike starts from La Chapelle d'Abondance and takes in the Cornettes de Bise nature reserve, a Natura 2000 site.
2 possible departures: parking de Chevenne or le Blanchet.
You'll pass through Chevenne, take a pastoral track and then a path towards the Col de Vernaz at the foot of the imposing Cornettes de Bise mountain. At the pass, a magnificent view of its southern face awaits you.
You'll then reach the Col de Resse and the Chalets de Resse.
Return via a fairly steep path through Les Barnettes to the Blanchet parking lot, or via an intermediate path to the Chevenne parking lot.
Beautiful panoramic views await you on this route.

Difficult passages
To cross a steep passage towards the Col de Resse, you will need to use a handrail (chain) for a short distance.

0/ Parking Le Blanchet.
1/ Walk along the "Chevenne" footpath.
2/ Follow the forest path on your left towards "Chevenne".
3/ At the "Chevenne" parking lot, take the right-hand path towards the "Col de Vernaz".
4/ At the pass, turn right towards "Col de Resse".
5/ Then head for the chalets de Resse and Plan de Resse.
6/ Return along the path through Les Barmettes to the Blanchet parking lot.
To reach the Chevenne parking lot, take the path on your right after passing the Plan de Resse, in the direction of Chalets de Chevenne.
This route is not recommended without suitable equipment if snow persists, as the passages in the couloirs and on certain slopes are very exposed.
