This easy hike from the Chef-lieu offers a magnificent view of the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Glacier de l'Étendard and, above all, the village of Albiez on the way back.
On the way up, you'll pass a number of small fairy chimneys.
On your way up, you'll pass electrified parks, so remember to close them behind you.
Your final objective, the cabane de La Blanche, is a former chairlift arrival station. The ridge shared with the Les Karellis ski resort and the Casse-Massion cross will be just above you, but there's no route to get there.
From this hut, and all the way back, you'll be treated to an exceptional panorama of Albiez, and you'll understand why we speak of the Plateau des Albiez in this country. The village of Albiez-Montrond is nestled on an islet of horizontal meadows. Facing due west, you'll enjoy the sun all afternoon.
You may hear a marmot's nap disturbed by your arrival. A sharp cry means that danger is close at hand and that he needs to hide quickly. Several repeated cries mean that the friendly rodent may be watching you from his rock.
With binoculars, it's not uncommon to come across a few sedentary chamois on the cliffs above.

Starting from the Chef-lieu, wind your way through the alpine pastures and gain height to reach the summit of the Crêt de l'âne ascent and the La Blanche hut. From up there, and all the way back, you'll have a beautiful view of the village.
