The 17th century in Italy represents the golden age of the tenor voice. The embodiment of music in the guise of Orpheus or Apollo, the tenor embodies all facets of divine and human expression, from the naive shepherd to the mighty god, from the valiant warrior to the amorous lover, at a time when the musician wrote, composed, played and sang his works himself. The program thus presents a joust of tenors: the American and the Swiss, fighting a merciless battle of velocitý, expressivenesś, tenderness and outrageousness around more or less well-known composers of the Seicento, rare pearls from operas or collections of songs and madrigals. The voices of Emiliano Gonzalez Toro and Zachary Wilder first face each other, then merge into an ideal twiń.
