The Ensemble "La Piémontoise" takes us on a journey through 18th-century Europe, a time when artists themselves traveled widely, meeting and influencing one another, even copying one another.
Compositions, transcriptions and copies circulated easily, published mainly by Dutch and English publishers, where copyright was not as developed as it is today.
The line-up of great musicians who composed the pieces on this program represents this climate of cultural effervescence between the Baroque and the Enlightenment.
The Ensemble "La Piémontoise", named after a piece by Louis Couperin and François Couperin's suite "Les Nations", is made up of Claudine Desjardins on traverso (baroque transverse flute), Dominique Desjardins on viola da gamba and Anna Cavalli on harpsichord.
