Born in Djibouti in 1996, he was introduced to the guitar by Hacène Addadi in Cholet before joining Michel Grizard's class at the
Conservatoire de Nantes. Three years later, he joined the C.N.S.M. in Paris in the classes of Roland Dyens and Tristan Manoukian. First prize winner of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America competition (2018) and "Classical Revelation 2021" by ADAMI, Raphaël has been chosen as exclusive artist by the Deutsche Grammophon label in 2022. He is one of the very few guitarists to have joined this legendary label. This fruitful collaboration a first single entitled "Les Barricades Mystérieuses" was released, followed in 2023 by his first album, "Visages Baroques". It reveals different sides of the Baroque aesthetic, centred on the figures of Johann Sebastian Bach and Jean-Philippe Rameau. Following his acclaimed debut at New York's Carnegie Hall in the spring of 2023, he has gone on to perform in prestigious venues and festivals - including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Folle journée in Nantes and the Beethoven Haus in Bonn - as well as major events in the world of the guitar, including the Festival International de Guitare in Paris, the Festival Guitarras del Mundo in Argentina and the Changsha International Guitar Festival in China.
