European Heritage days: Celebrating Verthier

At 2.30 p.m. meeting in front of the Verthier oven, next to the bridge: visit "Verthier through history" commented by Dalila & Alain, two heritage guides of Savoie Mont-Blanc from the Friends of Viuz-Faverges, who will take you on a journey in history and art.

L'Eau Morte and the lake allowed the development of Verthier, one of the oldest villages that make up Doussard.
The place inspired the painters Prosper Dunant and Firmin Salabert.

The circuit allows you to go back to the time when the old bridge was a tollbooth, when the mills were fed by reaches that used the power of water (not so dead as that, water!), when the main means of transport to join Annecy was the boat. It continues with the discovery of an old chapel and traditional housing: farmhouses with 4-sided roofs, Maison Blain (15th century), a fine example of a bourgeois house...
