But as long as you're in good shape and have the whole day ahead of you to enjoy the views, a picnic and why not have lunch in the restaurant at La Forclaz!
We start in Annecy towards Sevrier, about twenty kilometres along the cycle path on the west bank, before tackling the ascent of the Col de la Forclaz via Vesonne and Montmin, before descending gently to the lake on the east bank. 32 kilometres of often quiet but sometimes busy roads!
From time to time, this route leaves the main road to wind between the hamlet of Rovagny, the village of Bluffy or take the route de la Corniche overlooking Veyrier du Lac.
A few tips:
- A pleasant route outside the high season, spring and autumn are the best times to enjoy this walk in peace and quiet!
Not recommended for children
Bring water: you can usually fill your water bottle at the Montmin fountain.
Fully inflated tyres - fully charged bike and phone batteries (switch off your electric assistance on the descent)
Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended
