Gilles Perret's documentary filmed in 2009 tells the story of Walter Bassan, a former member of the Resistance who, at the age of 80 or so, embraces a duty of remembrance by working with schools. The scenes are filmed in the schools and colleges of Haute-Savoie, at his home, on the Glières plateau, and during a school trip to Dachau. Walter Bassan still feels strongly about the ideals of the National Resistance Council: antiracism, antifascism, public services, social security, independence and freedom of the press.
Various books about the Resistance and the Second World War will be on display at Megève media library from 20 to 25 August.
