In 2013, little was known about this house, recently named Maison du Lieutenant, other than more or less far-fetched tales gleaned here and there.
Five years of research, reading documents such as letters and notarial deeds, immersing ourselves in genealogies, and cross-checking our findings led to the production of three brochures and this exhibition. In this way, we were able to unravel some of the mysteries surrounding this unique house in our valley, and track down its successive owners over the centuries, all of whom were exceptional in their fields.
The story of the Maison du Lieutenant is also the story of Servoz.
