"Vignobles & Découvertes" approval

In 2012, two wine-growing areas in Savoie joined the group of ‘Vignobles & Decouvertes’ approved sites. A great accolade for these two destinations which have skilfully combined tourism and wine culture.

Coeur de Savoie

Cœur de Savoie is an area which stretches approximately thirty kilometres between Chambéry and Albertville.

Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) vineyards which grow unique grape varieties such as Mondeuse, Jacquère and Altesse line the hillsides in the Bauges and Chartreuse mountain ranges, offering visitors splendid countryside to behold.

In addition to the wealth of natural and built heritage, the area also offers a wide selection of wine-based activities and tourist sites.

Located around France’s largest natural lake, this destination is surrounded by stunning scenery.

The vines are grown on the slopes of the Haut Rhône region and on the banks of Lake Bourget, producing unique wines like Jongieux and Chautagne. Many different outdoor activities can be pursued in this unspoilt natural environment, in a unique and relaxing setting.

This wine tourism destination also provides visitors with a wealth of natural, built and wine-growing heritage.
