This hamlet is the reception centre of the Nordic ski area in winter and the starting point for many hikes, including the "sentier confort des Gorzdérés" (an itinerary labelled for its accessibility to all types of people).
The hamlet is made up of the village of Le Bois and the hamlet of Le Bois-d'en-Bas and retains some elements of traditional architecture and town planning.
