Founded by Canon Devémy for the new sanatorial population, designed by Maurice Novarina and consecrated in 1950, the church of Plateau d'Assy was decorated by the greatest masters of modern art (Bazaine, Bonnard, Bony, Braque, Chagall, Couturier, Hébert-Stevens, Hure, Kijno, Léger, Lipchitz, Lurçat, Mary, Matisse, Richier, Rouault, Signori, Stravinsky etc) under the guidance of the dominican, Father Marie-Alain Couturier.
