Walking trail: discovering Saint Jean d'Aulps

Explore St Jean d'Aulps village, with its little lanes and tracks, it's an ideal peaceful walk for the family. On the way there's the church, Aulps abbey and the St Guérin oratory to see.

Departure point: Tourist Office, Saint Jean d'Aulps
1/ Take the RD 902 towards Morzine
2/ Just before the campsite, take the road down to the right towards Sous Saint Jean, and cross the bridge over the Dranse de Morzine.
3/ Head for the hamlet of La Moussière, with the church to admire.
4/ On leaving the hamlet, head for Le Biot. The route then turns left, crossing the hamlet of Solfélery on a road that soon becomes a footpath.
5/ At the Tassonnière bridge, head towards Bas Thex and Le Biot. The trail crosses the bridge and then the RD 902, before taking the narrow road up to Bas Thex.
6/ At the Bas Thex chapel, take the path on the right towards Saint Jean d'Aulps.
7/ After a 15-minute walk, the Abbaye d'Aulps and its Domaine de découverte come into view.
8/ Continue along the road to the center of Saint Jean through the hamlet of the abbey and back to the tourist office parking lot.
Alternative: cross the hamlet of Bas Thex to join the forest track leading to the village of Le Biot, climb for 10 minutes to reach the Saint-Guérin oratory. Return by the same route.

- Don't set off too late in the afternoon, to make sure you're back before dark.
- Take sufficient food and water with you. Mountain sports require a lot of energy
